Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about WG-Watch, WN8 calculation, VIP benefits, and your statistics.

Daten & Statistiken
To protect our servers and the Wargaming API, we use a smart caching system. When you view a profile, the data is loaded live from Wargaming and cached for exactly 1 hour. After this hour, our system automatically fetches your latest battles upon the next request. You can recognize this by the small ⚡ Cached badge in your profile!
WN8 is a community-developed formula to evaluate a player's skill in World of Tanks. Unlike pure win rate, WN8 compares your damage dealt, kills, spots, and defense points with Expected Values for the specific tank you are driving.

WG-Watch updates these expected values live from the official XVM database, ensuring your WN8 is always 100% precise!
Besides the modern WN8, we also show classic values:

Efficiency (EFF): One of the oldest metrics. It highly values capturing and defending the base.
WN7: The direct predecessor to WN8. WN7 does not use tank-specific expected values but uses general formulas and heavily penalizes "sealclubbing" (excessive playing of low-tier tanks).
Features & Konto
By logging in completely free of charge via the official Wargaming Login, you unlock the coveted VIP status for your profile!

This means your account is scanned by our system every day at 03:00 AM. Anyone who visits your profile will see a detailed 30-day history of your statistics (including charts, daily differences, and session stats). Additionally, you can save your own favorites in the dashboard!
We automatically generate a live banner for every player that updates itself!

Simply visit your player profile using our search function and scroll all the way down. There you will find a live preview of your banner and the ready-to-use codes (BBCode for forums & HTML for websites) for easy copying.
We retrieve the Mastery Badges (Ace Tankers) and Marks of Excellence (MoE / Stars) via a special database query from Wargaming. If a tank shows no stars, it means the player has not yet met the requirements for the first Mark of Excellence (better than 65% of players in the last 14 days) on that specific tank.
Technisches & Support
Our server dashboard is a completely independent system that runs in the background 24/7. A cronjob queries the global server clusters for World of Tanks, Blitz, and Warships every minute. From these tens of thousands of data points, we generate the interactive live charts for you!
No problem, we are constantly developing WG-Watch! Just go to our Contact Page and drop us a short message. Whether it's a bug report, feature request, or just feedback – we read and appreciate every message!
